PROGRAM

The Northland Twisters FC Select Team Program is a program for more competitive U-9 through U-14 players currently being offered in Region 1161/Area 6 of Section H. This program is designed to provide options for players to play soccer at a more challenging level for those players who possess the desire and appropriate skills and abilities. It is intended to enhance each player’s experience and development through the game of soccer while offering a more competitive spirit. Region 1161 is providing a program that will provide a higher level of training from more experienced coaches and a higher level of competition for those involved. Players participating in this program will compete against other teams from other regions within KC and Missouri.

PLAYER FEES

Part of our mission is to keep our fees as low as possible, as we feel it shouldn’t cost a lot for a player/family to play soccer, even at a high level. Below is our player fee structure so families will know what to expect when they sign up for competitive soccer with KCAYSO Region 1161. We don’t think soccer should cost an arm and leg to play. It’s that simple.

• Registration fee – $600 covers both Fall and Spring seasons
• The first payment will be due at tryouts to lock in your spot and the remainder will due by 7/1/2023 for U8-U14 (Fall and Spring seasons).
• There is a $2.75 convenience fee applied on Sports Connect
• $80 fee for winter soccer for players interested in playing.
• Clothing fees are covered in registration fees. The fees include two complete jersey kits (jersey, shorts, socks)

The Northland Twisters Select FC Team Program requires an increased commitment from both parents and players, including attendance at all practices and matches as well as a sense of responsibility toward coaches and team members. The Select Teams will be their primary obligation as compared with club teams of any sport or competing activity. Failure to do so subjects the player to potential of removal from the Select Team. The team is financially self-supporting, separate from the Core program of Region 1161. This will require extra fees outside of the standard fees for the core season. Projected fees for the Select Program are in the range of $600 per player for a season (July - June). This will include a two full jersey kits with an alternative jersey kit and any tournament fees. There will also be more traveling involved than our primary program with the possibility of playing some matches on Friday evenings and Sunday when attending tournaments. League can play on Friday evenings, Saturday or Sunday. Some weekends there may be multiple games on any of the three days. This program was designed for serious soccer players and their families and may not be appropriate for athletes who wish to compete in many sports. Our primary program still provides an opportunity to play soccer with fewer demands for time and travel.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

Players will be selected for a Select team from those players that attend and participate in the open tryouts. Evaluators will submit player ratings and recommend the most capable and deserving players. Tryouts will be held for players born in the years of 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 with team selection to follow shortly after. In the event that enough players are not available in an age bracket teams may or not be formed.
